Improving reading skills with Kahoot
Struggling to make reading practice a breeze in class? Achieving that perfect level of quiet focus seems like a distant dream, especially with the little ones in tow.
Fret not! Ms. Bertha's got your back with a foolproof solution. Presenting a Kahoot tailor-made for the first cycle of Primary (ages 5 to 7-ish) to brush up on basic English vocabulary—think toys, shapes, and numbers. Your students are in for a victory lap if they READ both the questions and the possible answers.

Hello Bertha,
ReplyDeleteI really like the Kahoot tool but it is true that you must take into account the time you offer to the students to give the solution to the question you have proposed.
Also, I think that at the stage you are talking about, childhood, they are learning and it is very important how they feel emotionally. If it generates more stress than usual, I don't consider the learning to be entirely effective and positive.
Hello Ms. Bertha,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic idea to use Kahoot for reading practice with the little ones! Incorporating interactive games into reading sessions not only makes learning fun but also ensures active participation. The focus on basic English vocabulary, including toys, shapes, and numbers, is excellent for building a strong foundation.
I can imagine the excitement in the classroom as the students engage with the Kahoot quiz. The combination of reading both questions and answers adds an extra layer of engagement and comprehension. It's a brilliant way to enhance their language skills while having a great time.
I appreciate your innovative approach to make reading a breeze in class. I'm looking forward to trying out the Kahoot quiz with my students and will definitely share my experiences in the comments.
Thanks for sharing this creative solution!
Best,
Cristina
Helloooo!! I think it's a fantastic idea to use Kahoot; I believe it's a great tool to motivate students to work, and it can be used for anything. I found the activity very interesting and also enjoyable for students to practice reading along with the vocabulary they are learning in class.
ReplyDeleteIt's true that children often feel a bit scared to speak in class in a language other than their own, maybe because they think that if they do it wrong, others will laugh at them. So, engaging in activities like this is very beneficial for them to overcome these fears, have fun while learning, and enjoy speaking in another language. It's awesome!
